I downloaded and installed an svn version. Is this 0.48? Post 0.48? Prior to 0.48? The splash screen still says 0.47 but this may be spurious. Source forge says it is version 22759 The SVN version is outdated. After the release of Inkscape 0.47 the source code repository was moved to launchpad (in December 2009) [1]. The repository now uses bazaar instead of Subversion. The SVN source code repository for Inkscape trunk on sf.net is still accessible but no longer updated, the recent revisions (after 22583) are for other branches (web site, testsuite, ...) hosted at sf.net that have not yet been moved to launchpad [2]. You can find more information about bazaar and accessing the current development branch at <http://www.inkscape.org/bzr.php>. hth, ~suv [1] https://launchpad.net/inkscape [2] http://inkscape.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/inkscape/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net Dev2Dev email is sponsored by: Show off your parallel programming skills. The bzr site seems to believe that all Linux distros have bazaar, but Slackware doesn't. However I managed to download it install it and use it. Currently my Inkscape download via bzr is compiling. I had to run autogen.sh, then ./configure, then make. Hope it makes it to the end without failure. The reference to the svn version of Inkscape should be removed from the web pages. At this point it is just a blind alley. There was cvs, then svn, then bzr. And Scribus uses cmake instead of make. It would be nice if we could stabilize the repository systems and concentrate on improving applications instead, but someone is always reinventing the wheel. -- John Culleton Wexford Press "Create Book Covers with Scribus" Printable E-book 38 pages $5.95 http://www.booklocker.com/books/4055.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net Dev2Dev email is sponsored by: Show off your parallel programming skills.
