to adjust the default zoom level on the default document opened by
inkscape?

I've been playing with some settings in the default.svg file.  I managed 
to
get it to open a 500 x 500 px page with no boarder.  I'd like to have 
the
page zoomed to fit the screen.  I see a setting of inkscape:zoom = 
"0.35"
but that doesn't seem to work as adjust in the zoom level in inkscape 
has no
effect on this value in the xml editor.

Never mind.  I just modified a new document to the way I wanted to see 
it
and saved it on top of the default.svg file.  I feel embarrassed, but 
chalk
one up for the KISS approach...
